Crime reduction
Homicide reduction
Working with multi-agency groups on single homicide types, we help create pragmatic solutions to demanding issues.
We have worked with groups focussed on:
- domestic violence
- alcohol fuelled violence
- road death
Our sessions engage all those involved and enable them to generate new ideas, focus their collective expertise and commitment to co-operation.
The planning process starts with working with the sponsors to define the outcomes required and ways of engaging the diverse range of agencies to contribute. Initially in the session, each agency shares their perspective and objectives related to the homicide class. This reveals assumptions and perceptions of each group, resulting in the creation of joint objectives for homicide reduction.
Using our Group Engagement tools the group brainstorm ideas, creating potential solutions and revealing insights about how to reduce the incidence of homicide. Working as one team, participants prioritise and select the most effective solutions to implement.
Participants leave with:
- shared clarity about prevention of homicide
- commitment to implement solutions
A comprehensive report provides detailed information for wider communication and further engagement within each agency.
The progress made in these multi-agency group sessions have led to some imaginative preventative approaches being implemented.
